porcelain yard art

So every room in the house still has a long honey-do list, but on Sunday Chris started tackling the laundry room.  Notice I say started!

So, when we bought the house the laundry room had an old cast iron sink.  We LOVE that we now have a laundry "room" and that it is on the same level as our closets!  We also LOVE that it has a sink, we do not love the size of the sink it took up the entire wall of the room.

In our rental house we became very used to having our standing freezer in the same area as our kitchen so when we were looking at houses we decided this was something that we wanted to have in the new house.  Henceforth, another project~~basically we had to remove the large cast iron sink to make room for the freezer and we bought a laundry tub sink with pull out sprayer from our new favorite store Lowe.s

As of right now the sink's new home is in our back yard!! I promise we are not white trash and will move it to the storage trailer (yes we now own a gutted mobile home--shaking my head in disbelief). So check out our new backyard art~~haha

The laundry room isn't quite finished, but it is close!

May 9th: Mom is here to help!

Even though it was mother's day my mom showed up to lend a helping hand and make our home beautiful!!!

BEFORE:
Mom and her tape measure are never far apart!! There was much discussion on shelf placement, but I think we got it just right!  Chris was so wonderful to put the shelf clips in place as I had painted over the holes and it hurt my fingers to try and squeeze them in place.  Got to love his strong hands!

Mom begain windexing the shelves and putting them in place while I began unpacking boxes!  It was like Christmas seeing all my wedding gifts and beautiful things from my grandmother!  We are not completely done as there are still more boxes in the basement that contain more items to fill the shelves and china cabinet, but here is what we accomplished on Sunday.

AFTER:
Please excuse the lack of doors on the lower shelves, but check out those xenon under cabinet lights!! That would be my wonderful husband hard at work again.

Can you find my silver duck piggy bank in the picture?
